New genre ya’ll! That’s right, I am trying my hand at running superheroes. A genre I feel Fate is aptly suited for. This was a very solid session overall and I got to welcome a new player to my table in the form of Thomas E.
It’s been a couple of weeks since I ran this session, which you can find here, but I still have things to talk about regarding it. Time to go behind the session.
It’s been a little while hasn’t it!? There’s been travelling and holidays and wrestling with things that must be grappled into submission. I’m not here to talk about that though, I’m here to talk about all the games I’ve ran and played in since my last post. There’s quite a few, so let’s get started with this quick-fire round up:
Ghosts, a session of The Dresden Files RPG, was what I ran for this years BrigadeCon. I was able to play with some new folks, introducing them to the game for the first time. In that I hope I was a pleasant gate way, showcasing to them the strength of the game and the setting. Like every session, I have some thoughts about how it went so lets talk about it.
I play a lot of Fate via The Dresden Files RPG and I’ve had a lot of great sessions. This one, by far, was the best in terms of a crew of folks who know their Aspects stuff. Compelling, self-compelling, create advantage, and of course invoking: this one had it all. This was the single most impressive thing about this one-shot as it showcased the most unique aspect of Fate and continual pushed the session in interesting direction.
