I know, it’s been over a week since BrigadeCon came and went again. It was another great time this year and I am glad I participated. I actually got to PLAY a game this year as well as running another Dresden Files one-shot for the ‘con (represent!).
Ghosts, a session of The Dresden Files RPG, was what I ran for this years BrigadeCon. I was able to play with some new folks, introducing them to the game for the first time. In that I hope I was a pleasant gate way, showcasing to them the strength of the game and the setting. Like every session, I have some thoughts about how it went so lets talk about it.
Ghosts was the session of The Dresden Files RPG that I ran this year for BrigadeCon (Streak!). It was a great four hours with Rob D., Chris J., Lloyd T., and Michael W. and I was pleased with the session. Let’s sum it up:
I play a lot of Fate via The Dresden Files RPG and I’ve had a lot of great sessions. This one, by far, was the best in terms of a crew of folks who know their Aspects stuff. Compelling, self-compelling, create advantage, and of course invoking: this one had it all. This was the single most impressive thing about this one-shot as it showcased the most unique aspect of Fate and continual pushed the session in interesting direction.
I had the pleasure of finally playing with Chepe (also known as FaunTrodden on Youtuve) as well as John from Red Dice Diaries and Thashif (who I’ve had the pleasure of playing with before, but it was good to play with him again) for my first game of BrigadeCon 2015! Chepe ran a session of Edrigohr, a Native American-inspired Fantasy based on Fate Core. I was playing Ch’ni’wa, the Spider of First Town. John from RDD was playing as Ja’Sool, an eccentric inventor with knowledge of the Mire and Thashif was playing as Gri’tak, a warrior turned blacksmith that was too old for this business.
